What is an Accredited Practising Dietitian?

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) is a recognised professional with the qualifications and skills to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice.  They apply the science of nutrition, combined with food knowledge and communication skills, to help people attain and maintain optimal health.

An APD has graduate and/or post graduate university qualifications accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia.  APDs undertake ongoing training and education and comply with the Association's guidelines for best practice.  They are committed to the DAA Code of Professional Conduct, Code of Ethics and to providing a quality and caring service.
